Students interested in home schooling through the district must be home schooled by their legal guardian. Parents must have a high school or GED in order to home-school their child. Home schooled students do not receive a SC High School Diploma. Families choosing to home school their child through the district must complete an application and also include a copy of the guardian’s highest degree.
Rather than home schooling through the district, families can choose to home school through an approved association by going to and type home school in the search engine. A link to provide home school associations approved by the State Department of Education will appear for parents to choose the one that meets best meets the needs of the family and student. Once approved, the parent or guardian should bring the acceptance or membership card to the school to document an educational plan for that child.
